You have seen it coming, haven't you? :>
This piece of armor is really something iconic for Fenris, and along with the quote "I am yours" creates an aura of devotion - again something characteristic for the elf. Or maybe I was the only one that felt that way at the end of the story? When Fenris finally decides to be with the Champion, he starts to be really comitted to their relationship. The way he lashes out at everyone who DARES to flirt with Hawke always makes me smirk :>. And the final kiss...? Ahem, right, back to the topic.
But that all comes later.
Imagine Fenris sitting in the hall of Hawke's mansion. His hatred and anger are all the outside world can see. It covers him like a thick armor. But when he sits there, thinking, he starts to realize why he is here, why he feel the need - again - to explain himself to the Champion. In this one, quiet moment he finally understands, and it fills him with fear, and doubt, but there is also this warm overflowing emotion, the one he cannot name yet. And in the dim light and silence of the empty corridor, his hidden feelings starts to bloom. Like the shy, early spring roses, not sure they will be given enough sunlight to sustain them.
I wanted this piece to be more 3-dimensional. The pendant is 55x55 mm and up to 8 mm thick. The armor is simple and solid but adorned with huge amount of details. The central part is the little heart and the patterns creating a impression of warmth emerging from the center of the cold armor. The fresh roses are shyly peaking from behind of the gorget.
The matching earrings are 30x35 mm.
All is made by me out of polymer clay. The metal parts are silver-coated.
The set is handmade and one of a kind!
