So, the Bioware's Arishok from Dragon Age 2 ^^.
Since I saw him in game I was like "where the hell is romance option?!"
. I wanted to make this pendant for a long time, but I guess I had no enough confidence in myself to start so complicated project. It took me about 20 hours from start to finish. But finally, here it is ^^.
The Arishok is the traveler and a warrior. He is imposing and intimidating. He seems stoic, but there is this restlessness in him. Something gnawing at him, makes him impatient and violent. This longing and sometimes even sadness that makes him so vulnerable despite his size and strength. The homesick conqueror stuck far away from his motherland.
He have strong features, chiseled face showing that he lived through a lot. I wanted to show him in a rare moment of happiness. I wanted to catch him unguarded, when his heavy brow is not in the threatening frown and his sensual lips are not distorted by his hot temper.
He stands on the deck of a qunari ship feeling the breeze on his face. The sea wind is playing with his white hair. One of the sailors shouts something, and he turns his head to suddenly see a dark spot on the horizon. Par Vollen. He is focusing his eyes to see better and the corner of his mouth rises just a little. He is not smiling of course, he is the Arishok, but inside - his soul sings.
He is finally home.
Under the profile, in the background, there is the sigh of the Qunari House of the Tides, the same one Arishok has on his armor.
The backside is flat with the inscribed quote:
"Struggle is an illusion.
The tide rises, the tide falls,
but the sea is changeless.
There is nothing to struggle against.
Victory is in the Qun."
The title of this piece I took from the song I was listening waaaay to much during the making, "From Yesterday" by 30 Seconds to Mars. And I think it suits him ^^.
There are two pictures of this work in progress. [link]
I really like how his lips turned out on this photo ^^. I remade them 3 times so they would be just like I wanted >.<. I guess it was the most difficult part for me.
And here [link]
you can see my workplace, tools, and the most important: THE PROTOTYPE! ;D
The pendant is made of polymer clay. It's 70x70mm and 7mm thick. Please see the full view of the photos to see all the details, I really put a lot of effort into them. For example the face is only 15 mm high, and his earrings are 2mm long.
And it is on etsy! [link]
Handmade and one of a kind!
Ah! I almost forgot! I have the facebook page now. Like it if you are curious what I am up to
